Grade 8 & 9
Subject choices for grade 8 and 9 learners:
Compulsory Subjects
All grade 8 and 9 learners follow a curriculum comprising the following learning areas:
- English Home Language
- Afrikaans Eerste Addisionele Taal
- Mathematics
- Social Sciences (SS): A History and Geography Component
- Natural Sciences (NS)
- Economic and Management Science (EMS)
- Technology
- Creative Arts
- Life Orientation (LO)
Grade 10 to 12
Learners from grade 10-12 follow a programme consisting of the following compulsory subjects:
- English Home Language
- Afrikaans Eerste Addisionele Taal
- Life Orientation
The remaining four subjects are chosen from the following:
- Physical Science
- Accounting
- Geography
- History
- Mathematics
- Mathematical Literacy
- Business Studies
- Tourism
- Consumer Studies
Grade 10 Streams for 2021
Where options are indicated, the number of prospective learners or availability of staff AND learner achievement in certain subjects (as indicated below) will determine how many of these classes can be offered.
- Selection to the STREAM 1 (Science Stream), requires the learner to show proficiency both in Mathematics and Natural Science components at Grade 9 level.
- STREAM 1 (Science Stream) requirements: Mathematics (50%) and Natural Science (50%) – COMPULSORY
- STREAM 2 (Commerce Stream) requirements: Mathematics (50%) and EMS (50%) – COMPULSORY
